Our Process
Our web design projects work off a 7 phase process. We believe strongly in reassuring clients and keeping them close to the project. As such, payment is staggered across the project, at milestones tied to an end result.
Consultation
A consultation informs the other phases of the project and determines its scope.
We need to establish a baseline before we can consider the value of a web project to a client. Opening discussions will focus on the goals of your business or organisation, the products or services on offer, target audience, pricing, location, perceived competitors, available resources, and existing marketing.
Once satisfied we will provide some feedback and propose some options.
Research
Once the scope of the project is agreed, the consultation findings are correlated with data-driven research.
After a process of research and analysis we will arrange a call to satisfy any outstanding queries before progressing. This will often involve you responding to a research profile that we’ve produced.
Once our research has concluded we will produce some low fidelity wireframes to begin outlining the direction of design and development.
Design
Style presentation
We produce and present some design styles for consideration. After a collaborative process, a design style is chosen.
Page design
We use the chosen design style to produce designs for a selection of the most significant pages for further collaboration. Once all parties are happy with the resulting designs, we move forward with the development of the website.
Development
Time to Build.
This phase will vary considerably based on the scope of a project.
The final designs from the design phase are used to inform the development of the website or application in our staging environment. This phase tends to be quiet in terms of client engagement, as resources are focused on producing against an agreed blueprint.
Content briefs will be provided at this stage if required.
Population
Preparing the final version of the website or application.
The agreed content plan is enacted, and placeholder elements are replaced with content intended for launch. The previously agreed content plan will have included a strategy regarding written content, imagery, any audio or video assets, and detailed information regarding ecommerce if applicable.
We will present a version of the website or application that is representative of the final view.
Testing & Launch
The website is put through a process of checks.
We will seek approval and user testing from you to ensure that the finest details are as expected.
The website or application will also be subject to our own internal testing process. This process considers functionality, performance, security, user journey and more.
The testing concludes and the project officially launches.
Review
We always seek a post live review as part of our service
A few months after the offical launch of a project we will arrange a review. The aim is to measure client satisfaction and discuss the project after it has been exposed to real world conditions.
The review may include recommendations for the future or further details regarding the direction of the project if it is supported by ongoing services.
Most importantly, we hope to build on our relationship and ensure the client has felt the value of the project.
